This hotel is located in a great and walkable area; however, many places are still closed due to the pandemic. Portland is still a beautiful city and things are beginning to open up again. But you will see empty storefronts and some boarded-up windows. If you’re thrilled to travel again, like myself, just know that it’s not quite the way it used to be but getting closer. Come stay here, sit by the fire, enjoy your morning coffee then go explore! Beds are comfy with good linens.

I would not stay here again! There are a few pros and a lot of cons for a luxury hotel pros: Great location - there are a lot of nice restaurants and cafes that are walking distance Comfortable bed and pillows Decor is very nice charming and great for pictures cons: The website is very misleading There's no hot tub or pool for guests There's no restaurant or bar at the hotel like the website shows No continental breakfast The windows don't open in the rooms (which is also a fire hazard) and there's no fan in the bathroom The room felt very stuffy There's no refrigerator in the room Most of the outlets in our room didn't work The staff and esthetician at the spa were amazing but the spa itself isn't well kept, feels very dirty and unwelcoming and the steam room smells funny. The sink also didn't work in the spa bathroom The snacks at the front desk are very limited and they charge for bottled water The walls in the rooms are very thin. We lost sleep because we could hear the conversation/s in the room next to ours

Royal Sonesta Portland is a charming and comfortable hotel in the heart of downtown Portland! The location was great to walk to restaurants, food carts, bars, and shopping. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I stayed with my boyfriend and our friends in a double suite room, which had plenty of room for four people. There was a spacious sitting area with a couch and two chairs and the bedroom was separated with sliding doors for privacy. The beds were extremely comfortable. The style of the hotel was funky and bright - the opposite of boring! I highly recommend this hotel in Portland.

Had all kinds of trouble with our room, the shower was leaking, the fridge did not work, but we still enjoyed ourselves. I was going to not leave a bad review despite our time with this Hotel be sub-par. But then the business charged our card $50 randomly three months later. BEWARE they might just randomly charge you extra. I have since contacted this properly three times, trying to find out why my card was charged. The first time I called I spoke with a friendly gentleman who said he would look into it and call me back with a supervisor. I never received a call back from him. So two days later I called back this time asked to speak to the supervisor the gentleman I spoke to was very helpful and reassured me that he would take care of it. He said that he would call me back later that day to confirm that the $50 charge would be taken off as he saw no reason for it to be there. It’s now been three days since that second contact and I still have not received any communication from the hotel nor has the charge been reimbursed. So I’m left with just contacting my bank which means I have to cancel my card and that is a huge hassle for me. This is a business card that is used in associated with several accounts so it puts me at an extreme inconvenience. Not only did this hotel commit fraud by charging my card without any reason or consent but they did an absolutely disgusting job at trying to rectify the wrong.

Very accommodating for a last minute reservation. They also have a tesla charger in their garage! That was a massive bonus! Definitely will be coming back!
