“Um, it was a really mid experience. For how fancy it appears from the remnants of The Ritz, you would expect more, but it was just okay. I booked it using my Marriott points and you'd think the stay would largely be free because of that, but they sneak in a "destination fee" whatever that is and it racks up a large amount. Why stay loyal and use points if I'm going to experience highway robbery anyway? I was ok with the overnight parking charge and room service, of course, but tacking on a total of $100 + other fees is so unnecessary and really kind of ruined the end of the trip for me. Especially since clearly those fees aren't being used for upkeep. The biggest plus was the restaurant/bar. The food was great and the service was great. I also want to give a big kudos to the front desk worker who was still working while pregnant. I wish she could have had maternity leave, but y'know, capitalism.”
