“I had a business trip to Bolton and attended conference onsite after overnight stay in the hotel. First on arrival I was told there was no room available despite my booking online, which was promptly resolved by the manager. I did get a quiet room as requested but the room was in need of modernization. It was hot in the room but no alternative duvet was provided and it was too late to contact reception. The hotel was clearly booked in and the breakfast was busy with food items frequently missing. I would suggest the the breakfast which described as "very good" did not fulfill the promise with its content, however staff was very helpful. The coffee/hot tea machine needs a friend by the side so that the queue for a hot drink is manageable. Catering on the event was satisfactory, though it felt that in overall the venue was cutting it's costs by reducing staff numbers. It was suggested on the website that the venue had a gym/swimming pool, which I not got made aware of on arrival.”
