Located on the seafront overlooking the idyllic beaches of Punta Cana, the Ocean El Faro is a newly built five-star resort that opened its doors in late 2018. It features water attractions including large swimming pools, a calm stream with a gentle current, ideal for relaxing and letting go, as well as a family area with a water park. The resort, located in the Uvero Alto area, also has spectacular rooms, a wide range of themed restaurants, a Despacio Spa Centre, Privilege, Exclusive Rooms and Services and a full programme of entertainment for the whole family. In July 2019, the hotel will open an exclusive area for guests 18 and over with specialized services and leisure activities.

“After a long and tumultuous year of dealing with the pandemic on different fronts, all I wanted was a brief escape. As soon as I got my vaccine scheduled, I booked a stay at this property. With less than a week to go, I find this message in my inbox: “Your reservation was cancelled by the property because the property will now be closed during your stay. You will receive a full refund”. Wow, really?! Last minute cancellation due to this property not timing their construction correctly? Now the site says they are closed through April 30th due to construction. When I originally booked the room I was reassured construction would be completed by April. Thanks to their screwup I was forced to search for and make a reservation at another location in Punta Cana—and at a premium due to it being last minute! Thanks for nothing. I will not be booking this property in the future because they cannot be trusted to honor reservations. Anyone planning to make a reservation in the near future should be especially wary as they might push back the construction completion dates again.”
